TikTok Monetization Requirements 2026: Full Checklist

Every TikTok payout feature has its own follower count, age rule, and content restriction. This checklist lays out all six programs side by side so you know exactly which ones you already qualify for — and what's blocking the rest.

Hitting a follower milestone on TikTok does not automatically unlock every payout feature. Each monetization program runs its own eligibility gate, and creators regularly discover they qualify for one and not another despite having the same account, the same content, and the same audience size.

This checklist puts every requirement TikTok currently enforces — across six separate programs — in one place, along with the account-standing rules and content restrictions that trip creators up even after the follower count is met.

Quick Answer

TikTok monetization requirements vary by program. TikTok Shop affiliate and LIVE Gifts are the most accessible, generally reachable around 1,000 followers. The Creator Rewards Program and Series both require 10,000 followers, with Creator Rewards also requiring 100,000 views in the past 30 days and an account registered in one of eight eligible countries. Every program requires the creator to be at least 18 (19 in South Korea), have a personal account in good standing, and stay clear of Community Guidelines violations.

The Master Checklist: All Six Programs

Here is every current TikTok monetization program side by side. Treat this as your starting reference, then check the detailed section for whichever program applies to you.

Follower count is the entry gate, not the whole test

Every program listed above also requires the account to be a public Personal account (not Business, government, or organization-linked) and to be free of recent Community Guidelines strikes. Meeting the follower number alone does not guarantee access.

Creator Rewards Program Requirements

This is TikTok's flagship per-view payout and the strictest of the six programs to enter.

1

Account requirements

10,000 followers, 100,000 video views in the preceding 30 days (a rolling window, not lifetime), age 18 or older, and a personal account in good standing. Business, government, and organization accounts do not qualify.

2

Country requirement

Your account must be physically registered in one of the eight confirmed markets: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and Mexico. Traveling to an eligible country does not qualify you if your account is registered elsewhere.

3

Per-video requirements

Each video must be original, at least 60 seconds long, not a Duet or Stitch, not made in Photo Mode, and posted after you were accepted into the program. Videos posted before enrollment never earn.

LIVE Gifts and LIVE Subscriptions

LIVE monetization has a lower entry bar than Creator Rewards but layers on its own age-verification and content rules.

LIVE Gifts

Followers~1,000
Age18+ to receive gifts
Account age30+ days
Payout minimum~$10 in Diamonds

LIVE Subscriptions

Followers1,000–10,000+
Age18+
HistoryConsistent LIVE streaming
RolloutPhased, region-dependent
Age verification is stricter in 2026

TikTok now confirms 18+ status through facial age estimation, a card authorization check, or a government ID plus selfie. If your account's stated age looks inconsistent, LIVE and gifting can be locked until you complete one of these checks.

LIVE Subscriptions requirements are less standardized than Gifts and are still rolling out by region — some creators report access at 1,000 followers, others say they were not offered it until well past 5,000, which points to an activity-based review layered on top of the follower count.

TikTok Shop Requirements

TikTok Shop splits into two very different paths: affiliate (promoting other sellers' products) and seller (listing your own). Each has its own onboarding.

PathFollowersVerification needed
Affiliate — Pilot Program~1,000ID + bank account (before first withdrawal)
Affiliate — Full access~5,000Full identity verification, tax info
Official Shop Creator (bound to a seller)No fixed minimumSet by the partnering seller
Seller (own products)Not follower-basedBusiness registration, tax ID, bank details

For individual affiliate creators, expect to provide a government-issued ID, a tax ID such as an SSN or ITIN in the US, and a bank account held in your own legal name — mismatches between your ID name, bank name, and address are the most common reason applications stall. Sellers face a heavier document load: business registration, incorporation paperwork, and an authorized representative on file.

Pilot accounts have posting limits

Creators under the full affiliate threshold enter a pilot period with a capped number of shoppable videos per day. Graduating to full access typically requires a set number of qualifying posts, a qualifying LIVE session, or a minimum number of completed orders within your first 30 days.

TikTok Series Requirements

Series is the paywalled-content feature, and its bar sits at the same level as Creator Rewards.

  • 10,000 followers — this is a hard platform threshold; the Series option will not appear in Creator Tools below it
  • Age 18+ (19 in South Korea)
  • Account at least 30 days old, public, and in good standing
  • Personal or Business account accepted, unlike Creator Rewards which requires personal only

Once approved, you set your own one-time price between $0.99 and $189.99 per Series and can bundle up to 80 videos of up to 20 minutes each.

Brand Deals and Creator Marketplace

This is the one program on the list without a hard follower floor. Brands sponsor creators at every size, from nano accounts under 10,000 followers to accounts in the millions — what matters is engagement, niche relevance, and a professional pitch rather than clearing a specific number.

Disclosure is a requirement, not optional

Any video promoting a brand, product, or service must have TikTok's content disclosure setting turned on. This applies at every follower level and is separate from Creator Rewards eligibility — sponsored content is explicitly excluded from Creator Rewards regardless of your account status.

Common Disqualifiers Across Programs

These issues block eligibility or payout even when the headline follower number is met.

How to Check Your Own Eligibility

1

Open Creator Tools

From your profile, tap the menu icon, then find Creator Tools or TikTok Studio, where every monetization program is listed individually.

2

Check each program separately

Tap into Creator Rewards, LIVE, Shop, and Series one at a time. TikTok shows either an "Apply" option or the specific requirement you have not yet met.

3

Resolve flagged issues before reapplying

If account standing is the blocker, resolve any active strikes first. Reapplying without fixing the underlying issue typically produces the same rejection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the minimum requirements to monetize on TikTok?
The lowest bar is TikTok Shop affiliate and LIVE Gifts, both reachable around 1,000 followers with an account in good standing. The Creator Rewards Program is stricter: 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last 30 days, age 18+, and an account registered in one of the program's eligible countries.
Why does my account meet the follower requirement but still not show Creator Rewards?
The most common reasons are being outside an eligible country, having recent Community Guidelines strikes, using a business account instead of a personal account, or not yet meeting the 100,000-views-in-30-days rule, since that is a rolling window, not a lifetime total.
What disqualifies a video from Creator Rewards even if my account is approved?
Duets, Stitches, reposted or watermarked content, videos under 60 seconds, low-quality or slideshow-style posts, and anything tagged as an ad, paid promotion, or sponsored content are all excluded, even on an approved account.
Do I need 10,000 followers for every TikTok monetization feature?
No. That threshold applies to Creator Rewards and TikTok Series. LIVE Gifts generally require around 1,000 followers, and TikTok Shop affiliate access can start even lower through a pilot program before graduating to full access.
Is there an age requirement across all TikTok monetization programs?
Yes. Every TikTok monetization feature, including Creator Rewards, LIVE Gifts, LIVE Subscriptions, Series, and TikTok Shop, requires the account holder to be at least 18 years old, with South Korea requiring 19.
What counts as an account in good standing?
An account in good standing has no recent Community Guidelines strikes, has not lost e-commerce or LIVE permissions, and is not under an active restriction. Even a technically eligible follower count will not unlock monetization if the account has unresolved violations.
Can I monetize on TikTok if my country is not on the Creator Rewards list?
Yes. LIVE Gifts, TikTok Shop (where available), Series, and brand deals all operate independently of the Creator Rewards country list, so creators outside those eight confirmed markets can still build income through the other five programs.
What documents do I need for TikTok Shop verification?
Individual affiliates typically need a government-issued ID, tax information such as an SSN or ITIN in the US, and a bank account in their own legal name for payouts. Business sellers additionally need business registration documents and a tax identification number.
Does switching my TikTok handle affect monetization eligibility?
It can complicate tax and payout tracking rather than eligibility itself. It is generally safer to keep your handle stable once enrolled in Creator Rewards, Shop, or Series to avoid administrative delays.
How do I check exactly which TikTok monetization features I currently qualify for?
Open your profile menu, go to Creator Tools or TikTok Studio, and each program (Creator Rewards, LIVE, Shop, Series) will show as available to apply for or will list the specific requirement you have not yet met.

None of TikTok's six monetization programs share a single eligibility bar, which is exactly why so many creators assume they are locked out when they are only missing one specific requirement. Work through the checklist above program by program, fix the account-standing issues first, and the follower thresholds tend to be the easiest part to clear.
